World is a small place, where positives and negatives co-exist. How hard you may try, you will come across a negative person today or tomorrow in daily life. With so much focus on remaining positive in tumultuous times it can surely be stated that at some point a person thinks negative also. It is a fact from which we cannot run away just like night after day or day after night, then why not face the negativity as it is with courage and use it to achieve success in life.
There is no dearth of self-help gurus who assure that by imbibing and repeating the positive phrase “I am strong and successful” you can transform your life and it will be full of happiness.
How many of you have tried this and actually used it to success?
I have tried this affirmation several time, could remember and repeat this phrase for 10 mins and then back to square one. It is hard to maintain this habit, and after few moments of a day, you will be back to your old and repetitive thought process that is rooted deep inside your brain. The dilemma with positive assertion is that it is concerned with conscious mind, not sub-conscious mind where limiting belief actually lies.
Truth is, it is natural to have the feeling of disappointment, fear, anger, anxiety etc. Painting insecurities with the positive thought that “I am strong” is a temporary solution. Research shows that repeating the positive phrases helps the person having high self-regard, where as it back fires for the person with low self-confidence.
